Gabrielle passes her Permaculture Design Course / Gabrielle vient d'obtenir son Certificat en Permaculture

Gabrielle has been studying for her Permaculture Design Course with Patrick Whitefield  … online. I did my own PDC back in 2004 with Patrick and Cathy at Ragman’s Lane farm in the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire. It was residential, spread over two weeks. Gabrielle had long wanted to do a PDC but there were several difficulties. Two weeks is a long commitment to be away from our smallholding and gîte business and residential courses are more costly as you’re paying for accommodation on top of the course fees.

Gabrielle vient de suivre une formation en ligne… avec Patrick Whitefield. Le but : obtenir le Certificat de Permaculture (Permaculture Design Course – PDC). J'ai fait ma propre formation PDC en 2004 avec Patrick et Cathy à la ferme Ragman’s Lane dans la forêt de Dean en Gloucestershire, Angleterre. La formation se passait alors sur place, étalée sur deux semaines. Cela faisait longtemps que Gabrielle voulait suivre un PDC, mais il y avait plusieurs difficultés. Deux semaines, c'est un engagement long pour être absent de notre petite exploitation agricole et entreprise de gîte. En outre les stages sur site sont plus coûteux. Il faut payer pour l'hébergement en plus des frais de formation.

After much reflection, she had come to the decision that it would be too difficult to arrange when we heard that Patrick was just about to make his PDC available on the Internet. The course demands students complete five projects (four design plus one other) to be assessed by Patrick. 
  

Après avoir bien réfléchi, elle était arrivée à la conclusion que ce serait  trop compliqué à organiser. C'est à ce moment que nous avons entendu dire que Patrick était sur le point de proposer sa formation en ligne, sur Internet. Le cours exige des élèves la réalisation de cinq projets (quatre liés à une conception (design) et un autre) qui sont tous évalués par Patrick.

Gabrielle has recently finished the last project, unsurprisingly a design proposal (having worked through base map, survey and client questionnaire). Patrick asked if we would put her project online, so that other students could have the opportunity of looking at it. 

Gabrielle a récemment terminé le dernier projet, sans surprise, une proposition de conception (ayant travaillé à travers les étapes carte de base, l'enquête et le questionnaire du client). Patrick nous a demandé si nous pouvions mettre le projet en ligne, pour que d'autres élèves puissent le regarder.

Vous arriverez sur une page avec trois liens qui ouvrent chacun un document dans un nouvel onglet, afin que vous puissiez voir son enquête sur le site, le questionnaire du client et la proposition de conception en détail. Pour l’instant, ce n’est qu'en anglais : ‘petit’ travail de traduction en perspective pour Gabrielle pour les lecteurs francophones...
